- Salary Details: The salary range listed above includes a local payment of 15.95%. The current rate per hour for this position is $ 16.51.
Login Bonus: Transport Safety Management offers a sign-in bonus up to $ 1,000.00 for this location. $ 500.00 after boarding and additional $ 500.00 after one year of service. This move applies to TSO’s new appointment of who rode it before September 30, 2022.
The Security Police (TSOs) provide security and protection to passengers, airports and airports in a dignified and professional manner. These include:
The use of various testing equipment and technologies to identify hazardous substances in cargo, goods and passengers, and to prevent such items from being transported by aircraft.
Conducting searches and inspections, which may include physical contact with passengers (e.g., gripping, baggage search, etc.), conducting bag search and lifting / carrying bags, barrels, and goods weighing up to 50lbs.
Controlling end points and exits.

Maintaining focus and awareness while working in a stressful environment that includes sound from alarms, equipment and people, crowd distractions, time pressure, and distracted and angry passengers, in order to maintain the technical ability to identify and detect potentially life-threatening or deadly devices, and to make effective decisions in critical and frequent situations.
To make continuous development of critical thinking skills, needed to reduce real and potential security threats, by identifying, testing, and by using appropriate situation options and methods. This may include the use of risk-based testing protocols that vary depending on system requirements.
Store and use information for all standard operating procedures, which reflects reliable behavior, and is open to change and adapt to new information or unexpected obstacles.
You must be a U.S. citizen. Or the U.S. National and at least 18 years old
Pass drug tests, medical tests, and background investigations
Depending on randomized drug testing and / or alcohol testing
You must register for the Selective Service (males born after 12/31/59)
It should be available for various shifts and overtime, as required
Mandatory training and occasional travel may be required
The qualification requirements listed above must be met at the time of application.
Graduation
Applicants must meet these qualifications to be re-evaluated in the TSO recruitment process:
Have a high school diploma, General Educational Development (GED), High School Equivalency Test (HiSET), or Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) to validate or at least one year of full-time work experience in the security industry, aviation testing , or as an X-ray specialist
Be proficient in the English language (i.e., be able to read, write, speak, and understand)
