Netherland government announces easing of lockdown
The Nether Land government has announced that it will ease 19 of Europe's toughest sanctions.
According to the news agency, the Netherlands had closed events including bras, restaurants and museums since December 18 due to the spread of Omicron.
But despite the restrictions, there has been a steady increase in the number of cowardly 19 cases, with about 60,000 cases being reported daily.
The prime minister of the Netherlands is announcing new sanctions because he says the death toll in the country has dropped and the number of patients in hospitals is lower than before, so he is implementing the new Corona rules until March 8.
Under the new law, cafes, bars and restaurants will be allowed to open until 10pm, although patrons will have to show a negative test for admission, proving that they have been vaccinated or have recently been infected with the corona virus. Have recovered
Nightclubs will be closed, sports and cultural events will be limited to 1,250 people.
Cafes opened in several cities last weekend in violation of the ban, and dozens of museums and theaters opened as beauty salons for a day in protest.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Ernest Kuipers warned that the virus was "not a flu" but said that easing sanctions was necessary.
"Living too long with sanctions harms our health and society," he said.
About 90% of people in the Netherlands have now been vaccinated.
But the country lags behind its Western European neighbors in the rollout of its booster vaccine program, with only 57% coming forward for its shot.
