Rhodes Scholarships are postgraduate awards that support exceptional all-round students at Oxford University. Founded in 1902 at the behest of Cecil Rhodes, Rhodes is the world's oldest and perhaps most prestigious international scholarship program.

Scholarship Cost / Inclusion / Duration:


The Rhodes Scholarship covers all university and college fees, a living scholarship (£ 17,310 per annum 2021-22); Allowance for the beginning and end of education at Oxford, health insurance, visa, two economy class flights - to and from the UK.


The basic duration of the scholarship is two years, always and at all times subject to satisfactory academic performance and personal conduct.


Eligibility:


The following eligibility criteria for Rhodes Scholarships apply to all applicants:


* Citizenship and Residence: Each applicant must meet the citizenship and residency requirements of the Rhodes constituency for which they are applying.


• Age: On October 1, 2022, you must be at least 18 years old and have not reached your 25th birthday (ie you must have been born after October 1, 1997 and on or before October 1, 2004).


Or (for older candidates who completed their first undergraduate degree later than usual)


By October 1, 2022, you would not have reached your 27th birthday (ie born after October 1, 1995) and you would have met the educational requirements to complete your first degree on or after July 1, 2021. *


Education: The educational status of all the applicants should be sufficiently developed to ensure completion of the bachelor's degree by October after the election. Academic standing must be high enough to ensure admission to Oxford University, which has very competitive admissions requirements, and to ensure that Rhodes Scholars will perform to a high academic standard at Oxford. Individual circles can choose first or equivalent. Some constituencies require an undergraduate degree within the applicant's constituency.
